Typical Wall Problems
Brickwork
Even fairly new brickwork can very soon require attention
Incorrect or poor pointing together with fungicidal and algae attack
can cause brickwork to flake and eventually crumble.

Cement Render
Eventually whole chunks will fall off!
Expansion and contraction causes cracks, allowing water to penetrate. This develops larger cracks by freezing and expanding the retained moisture.

Pebbledash
Major problems can be created!
Pebbles lose adhesion leaving an extremely porous surface behind. Water penetrates, freezes and expands. Hairline cracks appear and then large sections will fall away from the wall. This process usually leads to penetrating damp problems inside the building.

Tyrolean
A sand and cement based "splash" coating
Probably the most short-lived of all renderings unless properly protected.

Untidy, patched or repaired surfaces
Brickwork can sometimes be treated but imperfections cannot be successfully filled. Repointing is often necessary. Painted renderings can be repaired but often blemishes remain. Other enderings need exetnsive patching which also leads to blemishes. These can all be repaired but you are then committed to painting the surface every 3-4 years to protect it.
